The Workforce Education Coordinator is responsible for bolstering employability through student engagement and community partnerships. The position will assist with the design, implementation, and evaluation of career and technical education programming. The position will also evaluate regional needs to continually improve and effectively grow opportunities for students.

This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date on or before June 30, 2026.

Multi-year grants are funded based on the fiscal years for the full grant period.  However, there is no guarantee that funding is available year after year from the awarding agencies.  Employment with the college after each grant funded period is not assured. 

Grant funded positions cannot guarantee a payout of leave benefits.  Grant funded employees are encouraged to work with their supervisor to schedule and utilize annual leave benefits during each grant period. 

Grant funded positions may be eligible for annual increases contingent upon awarded yearly grant budgets and a satisfactory performance evaluation. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree OR completed Associate’s degree from an accredited institution with two years of professional level experience performing similar duties to those described for this position OR four years of professional level experience performing similar duties to those described for this position.
  • Experience with teaching or professional presentation to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with data management and analysis.
  • Experience in event planning or project management.
  • Experience in higher education and adult learning theory

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Commitment to diversity in education.
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and time management.
  • Experience with career and technical education (CTE) programs.

Salary is $55,000.00 annual gross.  For full consideration, all application materials must be received by 4:00 p.m. on April 11, 2025.  Applications accepted until position is filled.

Essential Functions 

  • Event planning for student and industry partner engagement.
  • Support administrators and faculty to develop, implement, and evaluate programming.
  • High-touch case management to bolster student success, with a focus on those who have been historically underrepresented in Career and Technical Education (CTE).
  • Data management and reporting.

  • Cultural competence and demonstrated evidence, understanding, and commitment to the concepts of diversity, multiculturalism, and their application in the workplace.
  • Serve as College and program advocate in the community to facilitate the development of partnerships and student engagement for employability.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop programming for employability such as the State of Colorado work-based learning curriculum.
  • Support the division to develop work-based learning opportunities such as internships, project-based learning, and apprenticeships.
  • Collaborate across College departments to coordinate services for student success.
  • Support equitable educational access and student success, with a focus on underrepresented students, out-of-work individuals, English language learners, or justice involved individuals.
  • Research education needs, job requirements, and employment outlook of in-demand certifications, career opportunities, and industry sectors.
  • Actively participate in department and advisory board committees.
  • Identify and coordinate potential funding opportunities to support success, such as grants.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for credit for prior learning (CPL).
  • Professional presentation of services and programming.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data.
  • Ability to manage professional relationships with students, faculty, and industry partners.
