The AHSS Division requires operational support that maintains clear reporting structures while enhancing faculty development. This role provides focused faculty support while preserving the executive dean’s the associate dean’s, and the assistant to the executive dean’s strategic function. This role assists the executive dean, the associate dean, and the assistant to the executive dean in providing leadership in and management of division operations related to faculty support. This includes conveying the policies of the college and implementing those policies within the division. This position shall maintain commitment to quality instruction, the primary objective of this institution. The college is looking for a successful leader, which is defined by colleagues as a trusted advisor whose empathy is demonstrated through inclusiveness and service to others. This person will be described as having integrity, humility, and an inviting demeanor that puts those around him/her at ease. This leader will demonstrate a strong commitment to the value of diversity among students and staff, as well as sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of PPSC students. The individual works together with colleagues to create an atmosphere of trust and respect in which all can succeed. This person will use excellent communication, organization, and detail-oriented skills to effectively manage the programmatic requirements and timelines.

The college offers the possibility for alternative work arrangements such as flexplace, remote work, or flextime scheduling upon completion of training and department needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis.

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated competency with MS Office/Outlook 365 and proficiency in Excel.
  • Office management experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Content creation and advertising/marketing experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Previous experience working in higher education or academic settings.
  • Spanish language ability to read, write, and speak fluent Spanish.

Essential Functions

  • Assist Department Chairs with the tracking of performance evaluations.
  • Assist Department Chairs with textbook adoptions and ancillary instructional supplies.
  • Manage syllabi for the division
  • Assist Department Chairs with course schedules.
  • Support program assessment.
  • Assist Department Chairs with CTE/Gateway management.
  • Assist Department Chairs with concurrent enrollment management.
  • Assist Department Chairs with student advising needs.
  • Assist Department Chairs with data collection and reporting such as the VE135.
  • Assist Department Chairs with managing student registrations.
  • Assist by monitoring and reporting enrollment data.
  • Assist faculty with coordinating and managing advisory board meetings.
  • Assist with the development and retention of program accreditations.
  • Assist with the collection and analyses of program data and review.
  • Assist administration with the identification of instructional supplies and facilities requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate and accurate files.
  • Develop and manage the programmatic and operating budgets within grant parameters.
  • Cultivate partnerships with external and internal stakeholders to exemplify and sustain a positive climate of collaboration and inclusiveness.
  • Support faculty with online/digital learning initiatives and technology integration.
  • Help coordinate professional development opportunities for faculty
  • Support the implementation of inclusive teaching practices
  • Supervise CTE programs in consultation with the Associate Dean and Executive Dean.
  • Ensure the department curriculum meets the needs of students and aligns with college, state, and national requirements and accrediting bodies, as appropriate.
  • Assist the Associate Dean in preparing institutional, state, and national reports on a timely basis, as appropriate.
  • Provide oversite of the alignment of curriculum to ensure students gain the competencies to succeed in transfer and career and technical areas.
  • Advises students as needed on course selection, career options, internships, and transfer opportunities, addressing any student issues and concerns.
  • Actively participate in college or community activities and advisory boards.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
