This position contributes to the success of the part-time instructors and hourly instruction-related positions. This position supports the recruitment process, Faculty Load and Compensation (FLAC), HRS onboarding, input and review of biweekly payroll information.

REPORTS TO: Director of Recruitment and Classification

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution OR completed Associate’s degree with two years of professional level experience performing similar duties to those described for this position.
  • Data entry and data analysis or professional level experience in human resource related functions (i.e. payroll, hiring, etc.).

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of data entry and data analysis or two or more years of professional level experience in human resource related functions (i.e. payroll, hiring, etc.).
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience with Banner or other HRIS systems.
  • Experience in interpreting rules and procedures within the State of Colorado.

Essential Functions 

Instructor Recruitment

  • Serve as the primary HRS contact and subject matter expert for part-time instructors and instruction-related hiring processes.
  • Advise department chairs and supervisors on recruitment process, standard best practices, and providing guidance grounded in established policy and HR protocols.
  • Respond to inquiries from department chairs and supervisors, providing timely, customer-focused support.
  • Conduct recruitment planning and training meetings with hiring department chairs and supervisors to build professional relationships, clarify position requirements, and ensure alignment with established hiring processes.
  • Create job postings and determine recruitment timelines.
  • Coordinate HRS onboarding with appropriate department representative.

Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

  • Manage applicant tracking process for part-time instructors and hourly instruction-related positions.
  • Provide ATS training and guidance for applicants and supervisors for assigned departments/divisions.
  • Respond to inquiries from applicants providing timely, customer-focused support and accurate guidance on the applicant process.
  • Assign evaluators to appropriate job postings and monitor position progress.
  • Assign appropriate applicant stages throughout recruitment process.
  • Review and assess application materials, refer qualified candidates supporting the hiring process through best practices.
  • Generate position reports and determine candidate outcomes.

Personnel Support

  • Input and maintain data integrity of instructor hires, changes, appointments. 
  • Obtain required personnel documents, ensuring employment compliance.
  • Verify data and ensure accurate completion of employee personnel records and electronic filing.
  • Review, validate and audit official transcripts.
  • Assist with instructor drug screens, evaluation process, timesheet/leave inquiries.
  • Maintain HRS instructor onboarding/offboarding.
  • Responsible for accuracy of HRS instructor FLAC processing.
  • Participate in payroll/FLAC processing meetings, Banner and FLAC testing.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll schedules and various instructor reports.

  • Ability to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to effectively work both independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
