This position contributes to the success of the full cycle recruitment process, advising hiring supervisors to ensure the attraction and selection of a broad and diverse pool of qualified candidates in accordance with policy guidelines ensuring appropriate application of position standards and defensible practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Two years of professional level experience in human resources related functions (i.e. recruitment, selection, etc.).

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of professional level experience in human resources related functions (i.e. recruitment, selection, etc.).
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience managing high volume recruitment.
  • Experience utilizing Banner or similar HRIS systems.

Essential Functions  

Recruitment and Selection

  • Promote an inclusive recruitment and selection process through understanding and valuing a diverse campus community. 
  • Apply professional knowledge of laws, policies, guidelines, and best practices to provide best practices in recruitment and selection.
  • Advise hiring supervisors and committee members on recruitment processes, selection requirements, standard best practices, and providing guidance grounded in established policy and HR protocols.
  • Proactively monitors processes to identify process improvements.
  • Participate in recruitment and employment events. 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned departments/divisions for recruitment process.
  • Respond to inquiries from committee members and hiring supervisors, providing timely, customer-focused support.
  • Conduct recruitment planning meetings with hiring supervisors to build department relationships, clarify position requirements, determine sourcing needs, and ensure alignment with established hiring processes.
  • Create job postings and determine recruitment timelines.
  • Collaborate with hiring divisions/departments to identify advertising methods.
  • Utilize job boards and other technical means to source candidates to market positions to the appropriate audience.
  • Distribute search committee materials and monitor recruitment activities.
  • Assist committee members in determining candidate pool.
  • Encourage committee discussion of candidate pool.
  • Coordinate interview schedules, calendar invitations, and distributing meeting links.
  • Assist committee with determining interview style.
  • Review interview questions, teaching demonstrations, and monitor interview processes for consistency and compliance with established guidelines, appropriate application of standards and practices.
  • Observe candidate interviews as necessary and obtain interview materials.
  • Distribute background check, motor vehicle check, drug screening, fingerprinting as appropriate for conditions of employment.
  • Verify completion of reference checks and state agency employment.
  • Prepare offer letters and personnel forms for review.
  • Communicate status updates to hiring supervisors.
  • Coordinate HRS onboarding with selected candidates and hiring supervisors.
  • Coordinate smooth and seamless transition with hiring supervisor to support candidate to new/transfer employee.

Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

  • Manage full-circle applicant tracking process for exempt administrative, professional, technical, and faculty positions.
  • Serve as a resource for ATS to include administering user accounts, generating reports, and trouble-shooting applicant/end-user technical difficulties.
  • Utilize ATS to enhance applicant and committee experience.
  • Provide ATS training and guidance for applicants and committee members for assigned departments/divisions.
  • Assign and track position status.
  • Respond to inquiries from applicants providing timely, customer-focused support and accurate guidance on the applicant process.
  • Assign committee members to appropriate job postings and monitor committee progress.
  • Assign appropriate applicant stages throughout recruitment and selection process.
  • Review and assess application materials and refer qualified candidates supporting the hiring process through best practices.
  • Assist committee in determining candidate pool.
  • Utilize interview platforms to create candidate interview schedules and track candidate progress.
  • Generate interview links to candidates and committee members.
  • Generate position reports and determine candidate outcomes.

Personnel Support  

  • Input and maintain data integrity of new hire and change forms. 
  • Obtain required personnel documents, ensuring employment compliance.
  • Electronic filing of employment information.
  • Verify data and ensure accurate completion of employee paperwork.

  • Ability to navigate differences effectively and respectfully in the workplace.
  • Maintain consistency and integrity of the college’s recruitment and selection processes. 
  • Interpret and apply compliance with State Board policies, System Procedures, Department of Personnel and Administration, Fair Labor Standards Act, and higher education practices. 
  • Provide direction and guidance to ensure compensation aligns with internal equity and the Equal Pay Act.
  • Foster customer service driven relationships with vendors, faculty, staff, and students.  
  • Recommend and implement innovative approaches in automation to enhance capabilities and improve services. 
  • Ability to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to effectively work both independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and simultaneously.
