This position supports the Dean of Online Learning in organizing and managing division operations, overseeing data needs, managing scheduling, coordination, reciprocity reporting, and communication regarding distance education programs for PPSC, especially related to Colorado Online and learning design.

The college offers the possibility for alternative work arrangements such as flexplace, remote work, or flextime scheduling upon completion of training and department needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
  • Two years of successful administrative experience.
  • Two years of successful experience in organizing, or managing operations, budgets, and related reports.
  • Two years of successful experience using word processing, database, and spreadsheet software.

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years or more of successful administrative experience.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Three years or more of successful experience in organizing, or managing operations, budgets, and related reports.
  • Experience with Office 365, web-page design, Adobe Suite, HTML 5, Camtasia, or comparable software.
  • Experience with a Learning Management System.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the college mission.
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership ability and successful record of innovation.
  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to embrace change in the ever-changing environment of higher education.

Essential Functions 

  • Assist with management of division processes, and procedures.
  • Oversee operations including developing, evaluating, and modifying office operations to maintain efficiency and ensure professional standards are met.
  • Assist Dean of Online Learning in coordination with divisions to assist in managing scheduling for Colorado
  • Online and other distance education programs.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of changing laws and rules related to reciprocity agreements (SARA and others) and state reporting related to Online and distance education.
  • Maintains eLearning/online learning webpage updates.
  • Research and coordinate grant opportunities relevant to distance education to share with appropriate
  • PPSC personnel.
  • Oversee the development of goals and the completion of midterm and annual evaluation process for staff in eLearning. Schedule reviews with Dean of Online Learning and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Organize department events and department professional development opportunities to ensure eLearning maintains a community and integrates with the larger PPSC campus community.
  • Assist the Dean of Online Learning and CETL with professional development both internally and externally specifically related to distance education, Colorado Online, and the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Oversee department databases such as SharePoint.
  • Ensure training records are maintained and accessible.

  • In addition to the specific duties and responsibilities included herein, PPSC administrators are responsible for certain general duties and responsibilities listed in the PPSC policy and educational procedures manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise staff and/or additional leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and measure complex programs and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and interpret educational procedures.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use various computer programs and applications.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Dean of Online Learning.
