As part of the Communications Technology team, the Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for daily management and strategic use of digital communications tools including College Websites, Third-Party Applications, and CRM systems. This role involves improving and optimizing content across multiple platforms and departments to implement marketing, enrollment, and retention strategies for Pikes Peak State College. The successful candidate will support internal stakeholders by providing innovative technology solutions, maintaining and creating content, and driving effective digital communication strategies.

The college offers the possibility for alternative work arrangements such as flexplace, remote work, or flextime scheduling upon completion of training and department needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, IT, Communications, or closely related field.
  • Technical Proficiency in CRM or digital marketing software.
  • Experience with website content management systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Certifications in Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, or similar platforms.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to perform in a cross-functional team.
  • Experience in higher education or similar sectors.
  • Experience with additional digital marketing tools such as Canva, Photoshop, Meta Business Suite, Chat GPT, and Google Analytics.
  • Experience with EdTech platforms such as Gecko Engage, Recruit CRM, Modern Campus CMS, Modern Campus Catalog, AdAstra, and EAB Navigate.
  • Experience with Video or Photo capture and editing.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.

General Duties, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Develop and execute CRM strategies to enhance user engagement and efficiency.
  • Manage, create, and update web content, ensuring it is current, relevant, and optimized for SEO.
  • Provide support and training to digital marketing tools' users.
  • Maintain and enhance email and other digital marketing initiatives automations.
  • Audit and upgrade third-party applications and websites.
  • Collaborate with Pikes Peak State College stakeholders to ensure cohesive digital strategies.
  • Generate and analyze reports on digital marketing performance.
  • Maintain and update how-to videos and documentation for relevant internal and external processes.
