The Behavioral Health Support Specialist will provide essential operational and administrative support to the Behavioral Health Department. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient day-to-day functioning of the department by coordinating calendars, managing records and files, assisting with budgets and reporting, supporting hiring processes, procuring supplies, and serving as a main point of contact. The college offers the possibility for alternative work arrangements such as flexplace, remote work, or flextime scheduling upon completion of training and department needs. REPORTS TO: Director of Behavioral Heath

This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date on or before December, 2026.

Multi-year grants are funded based on the fiscal years for the full grant period.  However, there is no guarantee that funding is available year after year from the awarding agencies.  Employment with the college after each grant funded period is not assured. 

Grant funded positions cannot guarantee a payout of leave benefits.  Grant funded employees are encouraged to work with their supervisor to schedule and utilize annual leave benefits during each grant period. 

Grant funded positions may be eligible for annual increases contingent upon awarded yearly grant budgets and a satisfactory performance evaluation. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution OR completed Associate’s degree with two years of professional level experience performing similar duties to those described for this position OR four years professional level experience performing similar duties to those described for this position.
  • Two years of professional level experience managing and coordinating department operations.
  • Experience working with budgets and budget reporting.

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge. Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of professional level experience managing and coordinating department operations.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis.
  • Experience interpreting State of Colorado rules and procedures as it relates to Colorado Behavioral Health Administration.
  • Experience with records management.
  • Microsoft Applications including Excel.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent Spanish (and English).

Salary range is $45,000.00 to $50,000.00 annual gross.  For full consideration, all application materials must be received by 4:00 p.m. on April 10, 2024.  Applications accepted until position is filled.

Essential Functions  

  • Assist with managing the department budget and the associated reporting.
  • Assist with coordinating and submitting payroll documents including Faculty Load and Compensation (FLAC).
  • Assist with coordinating purchasing, procurement, and revenue.
  • Assist with budget management, financial reporting, procurement, and grant administration.
  • Assist with maintaining the department calendar and hosting of department events.
  • Manage organized department files, records, and databases.
  • Assist administrators with the hiring and onboarding of faculty and staff.
  • Assist administrators and faculty with the inventory of department equipment and supplies.
  • Provide file management for division documents.
  • Act as a liaison with other college departments and external partners as needed.
  • Coordinate department communications via phone, email, website, etc.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the departmental operations.
