Job Description

This position provides electrical trades duties for Pikes Peak State College campuses.

This is a temporary, hourly position, not to exceed 28 hours per week.  

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned OR a combination of related education, satisfactory completion of formalized electrician apprenticeship program, relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two years.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned.
  • Satisfactory completion of formalized electrician apprenticeship program.

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Life Safety Systems - Assures proper function of electrical systems.  Schedules and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.  
  • Plans and Compliance - Interprets plans, specifications, drawings of electrical and mechanical systems relative to projects to meet the needs of the institution.  Reviews plans and assures compliance with NEC state and regional codes, local laws and ordinances. 
  • Renovation/Construction - Performs electrical installations, demolition, and testing of minor construction and remodel projects.
  • Additional Duties - Assist journey level crafts in structural and grounds keeping areas within the department upon request.  Snow removal and ice control as needed.  Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
