This position is responsible for carrying out Administrative Assistant II duties in the Financial Aid Department. This is a temporary part-time hourly assignment, not to exceed 28 hours per week, maximum 9-month assignment. This position is located at the Centennial Campus, 5675 S. Academy Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
Minimum Qualifications
Completed High School Diploma or GED.
Two years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position. Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
This position provides administrative and technical support to the Financial Aid office at Pikes Peak State College.
Provide excellent financial aid advising using various communication methods.
Assistant current and prospective students with creating an FSA ID, and completion of the FAFSA.
Provide information and advice to students, both prospective and current, about financial aid processes and applications, scholarships, eligibility requirements, student rights and responsibilities, etc.
Provide assistance to students with the completion of verification forms, and IRS documentation.
Indexing financial aid documentation in BDM imaging system.
General Duties:
Cultural competence and demonstrated evidence, understanding, and commitment to the concepts of diversity, multiculturalism, and their application in the workplace.
Requires face-to-face contact with a diverse population of students.
Advise students of the various aspects of financial aid (i.e., application procedures, verification documentation, scholarship and grant guidelines, federal and private loan conditions, Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements, etc.).
Assist students with completion of FAFSAs and required documentation to be awarded financial aid.
Explain financial aid processes, awards, and provide financial aid guidance via email, telephone, in-person meetings, and presentations/FAFSA nights.
Excellent customer service skills and experience are required.
Additional duties as assigned.
