Job Description:
Part-time instructor positions (as defined by State Board Policy, BP 3-10) exist to create and maintain a teaching and learning environment that empowers students to be successful. Part-time instructors work under the direction of their respective Department Chair, Associate Dean, or Executive Dean.
Pikes Peak State College maintains a pool of qualified part-time instructors. Part-time instructors will be selected to support departmental requirements. Part-time instructors may be employed to teach courses, conduct presentations or other service activities when current instructors and faculty are not available.
Must be a State of Colorado resident or able to relocate to Colorado prior to first date of employment. All work must be performed in the State of Colorado.
Minimum Qualifications
Current PTCB Certification or PharmD degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
Active Colorado State Board of Pharmacy certification as a Pharmacy Technician OR license as a pharmacist.
Three years of full-time experience in an inpatient hospital to include one year of experience in sterile compounding and knowledge of USP 797.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician training program.
Five years of full-time experience in an inpatient hospital to include 2 or more years of experience in sterile compounding.
Experience in teaching or supervising sterile compounding personnel.
PTCB advanced certification in sterile compounding.

CTE Programs: Applicants must possess or be eligible to receive the relative Colorado State Career Technical Education Teaching Credential in order to qualify for disciplines within CTE Programs. Participate in all aspects of department and/or college level assessment of student learning outcomes in general education and career/technical courses and programs as required.
Meets classes as scheduled for prescribed time.
Submits required reports and documents.
Seeks to maintain a high quality of instruction by remaining current on discipline specific and pedagogical issues.
Collaborates with colleagues in a professional manner.
Uses communication techniques that foster collegiality when problem solving.
Works to resolve conflicts in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Contributes to the promotion of an excellent educational climate within the college as a whole, as well as within the division and department.
Assist, as requested, with the development of the term class schedule and the college catalog.
