The Senior Simulation Operation Specialist is responsible for facilitating the utilization of Simulation Center resources through the preparation, implementation, and take down of healthcare simulation and healthcare lab experiences. The position will also oversee simulation technician training and scheduling for part-time simulation lab assistants. The Senior Simulation Operation Specialist will assist the Associate Dean of Simulation Operations and Simulation IT Specialist with conducting services on new equipment, software, and supplies.
Additionally, this role serves as a resource for students and faculty during simulation experiences by answering routine questions related to learning resources and equipment use.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completed bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution OR completed associate's degree with two years of direct professional level healthcare simulation operations experience OR four years of direct professional level healthcare simulation operations experience.
- Two years of operational experience in healthcare simulation services, technologies, and software applications such as Elevate Healthcare software.
- Obtain the Certified Healthcare Simulation Operator Specialist (CHSOS) Certification within 24 months of hire as a condition of employment.
- Two years of experience supervising or training simulation technicians.
Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge. Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six years of direct healthcare simulation training experience.
- Five years of operational experience in healthcare simulation services, technologies, and software applications such as Simcapture software.
- Three years of experience with scheduling, managing, and training simulation technicians.
- Possession of a Society of Simulation Certified Health Care Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS).
- Experience creating training manuals for simulation technicians.
- Experience with various fidelity manikins such as Laerdal, Elevate, and Gaumard in a healthcare simulation lab.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze logistical needs for accommodating large student groups into limited lab space.
