The Faculty Pay and Training Coordinator is responsible for managing and processing Faculty Load and Compensation (FLAC), course scheduling, and development of internal and external training programs. This position plays a key role in ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance in faculty pay and related instructional operations while fostering effective communication and training across the instructional divisions.

The college offers the possibility for alternative work arrangements such as flexplace, remote work, or flextime scheduling upon completion of training and department needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed bachelor’s degree from a regionally credited institution OR completed associate degree with two years of professional level experience performing similar duties to those described for this position OR four years of professional level experience performing similar duties to those described for this position.
  • Two years of experience coordinating and conducting training sessions.
  • Proficient knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting targeted deadlines.

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience using coordinating and conducting training sessions.
  • Two or more years of experience in higher education.
  • Experience using Banner or other higher education student information system.
  • Experience using Ad Astra or other scheduling software.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Essential Functions 

Faculty Load and Compensation (FLAC): Primary responsibility of contract generation for instructor and faculty pay using the Banner FLAC system. Ensure compliance with college and Colorado Community College System (CCCS) compensation policies and procedures. Serve as a liaison between Instructional Support and instructional divisions to promote understanding and adherence to institutional guidelines. Coordinate with Human Resources/Payroll to research and resolve discrepancies in payment of instructor or faculty contracts. Evaluate, and revise procedures to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of faculty pay processes.

Course Scheduling: Utilize scheduling software and work with instructional divisions to ensure courses are scheduled in appropriate classrooms/labs within the college schedule grid. Verify course contact hours, prerequisites, and part-of-term are compliant with established policies. Ensure appropriate faculty/instructor assignments are submitted in a timely manner and enter assignment data in Banner.

Training Coordination: Develop, coordinate, and conduct training sessions, both virtual and in-person, on faculty and instructor pay and scheduling processes for Executive Deans, Associate Deans, and instructional support staff. Create, update, and maintain training materials within Desire2Learn (D2L) and ensure all standard operating procedures and supporting documentation are current and accessible. Coordinate and facilitate interdepartmental communication to ensure procedural consistency across instructional divisions.

Engagement and Collaboration: Attend division meetings to provide updates and training on Instructional Support processes, including payroll timelines, substitute pay procedures, and scheduling deadlines. Respond to faculty and staff inquiries, gather feedback, and communicate concerns or recommended process improvements to leadership. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director.

  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
