Enrollment Services is seeking a Part-Time Bilingual Admissions Counselor, Temporary Hourly to provide admissions counseling and enrollment services to prospective, new, and current students at Pikes Peak State College who prefer support in Spanish. This role manages a caseload of newly admitted students, guiding them through the enrollment process and supporting the college’s goal of remaining an official Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). Bilingual and biliterate proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
This is a temporary part-time hourly position, not to exceed 28 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications
Completed Associate’s degree or higher.
One year of experience in admissions, enrollment, or student services area.
Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English.
Essential Functions
Admissions & Enrollment Counseling
Advise and support Spanish-speaking students and their support networks throughout the admissions and enrollment process, including financial aid, tuition payment, residency, COF authorization, student email setup, first-term registration, and long-term degree planning.
Conduct proactive outreach via text, email, phone, and in-person appointments, including individual, group, and workshop sessions.
Track interactions and report outcomes to ensure quality case management.
Customer Service & Collaboration
Deliver high-quality customer service to students, families, faculty, staff, and the public.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure enrollment services reflect current college policies and procedures.
Provide comprehensive guidance on admissions, registration, financial aid, scholarships, and barriers to education or career opportunities.
Documentation & Reporting
Process student files and documents to support enrollment.
Participate in quality control for document processing.
Programming & Outreach
Support bilingual recruitment events as needed.
Develop and deliver programming materials for presentations, events, and workshops.
Participate in college-wide teams, committees, and professional development activities.
Additional duties and projects related to the role, as assigned.
General Duties, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to navigate differences effectively and respectfully in the workplace.
Demonstrated oral and written bilingual communication skills.
Familiarity with student services in higher education, especially for new students.
Ability to provide high-level customer service in various formats.
Effective teamwork and independent work skills; ability to build professional relationships.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and at all PPSC locations.
Proficiency with student information systems, CRM systems, Microsoft Office, social media, and messaging applications.
Experience developing programming materials for events and workshops.
Knowledge of college processes, academic programs, relevant state and federal policies, Colorado residency classification, and financial aid procedures.
Understanding of career assessments, labor market trends, and career information resources.
